An arrangement of muffins was put out on a table in a crowded room. We
decided that the students in the room would become our subjects. Many of
the subjects were unsure if the muffins were for them, and too afraid to
take one. Therefore, no muffins we taken from the plate.

 After a few minutes, we sent an accomplice, or an example, to take a muffin. People were still hesitant and afraid to take a muffin.
